Out of Network

Out of Network
Many insurance companies provide out of network benefits, where clients pay out of pocket and then submit their receipts for reimbursement. Most of my clients submit their receipts weekly or monthly and are reimbursed for the majority of their payment. I will email you the receipts so they can be easily forwarded onto your insurance company electronically. I do recommend that all clients reach out to their insurance company prior to their first session to inquire about their reimbursement rates.

Self Pay
Some clients choose to self pay for the following reasons:

  • No limit to services:
Some insurance companies put a limit on the number of sessions a client can have each year. Everyone grows and heals at a different rate so this can be restrictive and can also add unnecessary pressure. Limiting the amount of sessions can sometimes prevent clients from reaching their goals and their full potential.
  • Confidentiality:
Insurance companies can request client records at any time for any reason because they are paying for services rendered. When clients self pay their records cannot be released to anyone unless there is a court order.
  • No diagnosis needed:
Insurance companies usually require a diagnosis after the first session. This diagnosis may not be as fair and accurate as it could be after taking more time to truly get to know the client and all of the symptoms they may be experiencing. This medical diagnosis then becomes part of your permanent medical record that may impact future careers and applying for certain disability or life insurance benefits. For accuracy, fairness and to avoid being labeled, some clients feel more comfortable receiving treatment that doesn’t require a diagnosis to be reported to their insurance company.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to email or call me so I can further address your specific concerns and needs in regards to payment. I am happy to help and want to ensure there are no barriers to you getting the services you need.
